Skin Rejuvenation

A youthful skin with a supple, smooth feel is the goal of skin rejuvenation treatments. Methods for stimulating new collagen formation using a non-ablative fractional laser are considered a valid alternative to costly surgical procedures.

This less-invasive form of skin rejuvenation is currently in growing demand. With a wavelength of 1550 nm, the fractional non-ablative laser module of the FlexSys is ideal for gentle skin rejuvenation.

During treatment, the laser beam is applied selectively to the skin and heats the tissue without damaging the surface layer of skin. The body’s natural ability to regenerate then stimulates the formation of new collagen. This fine-fibered protein ensures elastic and supple skin.

A skin-rejuvenating effect is also observed in the context of photodynamic therapy (PDT). Although PDT is mostly used for medical reasons (e.g. treatment of actinic keratoses), skin rejuvenation can also be defined as the main goal of treatment in the context of cosmetic PDT. Therefore, our PDT solution MultiLite is also suitable for skin rejuvenating treatments.

Scars & Acne Scars

Scar tissue is produced as a result from the wound healing process of skin layer injuries. Depending on the depth and type of a skin injury, scars can appear as structural irregularities, hardenings or even agglutinations of the skin.

Particularly in noticeable areas of the body such as the face, scars can be troublesome for those affected. Laser treatment can reduce the visibility of scars. To conceal the scarred or damaged skin cells, new collagen formation is stimulated by a non-ablative fractional laser. Due to the structural properties of collagen, the scar tissue becomes less distinguishable from the surrounding skin.

The fractional non-ablative laser module of the FlexSys is ideal for the treatment of structural irregularities of the skin such as scars and acne scars.

Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a chronic skin disease that manifests as light, non-pigmented skin patches. For reasons that are largely unknown, the pigment-forming cells (Melanocytes) of the skin and hair are destroyed, causing the production of the pigment melanin to dry up.

Phototherapy is usually used to treat Vitiligo. The affected skin areas are treated with UVB light, which is designed to stimulate the reproduction and growth of melanocytes. This can contribute to the re-pigmentation of the affected areas.

With the UVB modules of the FlexSys, vitiligo lesions can be treated in a targeted manner that is gentle on the not affected skin.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is one of the most widespread autoimmune-mediated inflammatory diseases. The disease is hereditary and usually occurs chronically or in recurrent phases. The symptom of Psoriasis is the excessive production of skin cells, resulting in the typical raised, reddened plaques.

Treatment of the inflamed areas with UVB light can lead to a normalization of the formation rate of skin cells and thus to an improvement of the plaque formation.

With the UVB modules of the FlexSys, Psoriasis plaques can be treated in a targeted manner that is gentle on the not affected skin.

Vascular Lesions

Vascular lesions such as spider veins or Telangiectasia are among the most common cosmetic skin disorders. Modern diode lasers can be used to treat these superficial skin phenomena gently and with few side effects.

During treatment, the energy of the laser light is absorbed in the blood pigment. As a result, the affected blood vessel heats up and disappears. The color of the laser light depends, among other things, on the patient’s skin type.

FlexSys Green Module

Both the yellow and the green FlexSys modules are suitable for vascular treatment. The yellow module provides the advantage that darker skin types can also be treated safely.

Pigmented Lesions

Benign pigmented lesions such as age spots or freckles can also lead patients to desire treatment. As with the treatment of vascular lesions, diode lasers are also used for this purpose.

The laser light is absorbed by the skin pigment melanin, removing unwanted pigmentary lesions.

FlexSys Yellow Module

In addition to the yellow and green modules of the FlexSys, the non-ablative fractional laser module is also suitable for treating certain pigmented lesions.

Photodynamic Therapy

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has become indispensable for the treatment of tumors and tumor precursors of “white skin cancer”. In PDT the interaction between light and a special photosensitizer is used.

The photosensitizer is applied locally to the patient’s affected skin areas and accumulates mainly in the diseased tissue due to the cellular properties of the tumor or tissue alteration.

After the application, the tumor or tissue alteration is exposed to light of a special wavelength. In the process, substances are formed that specifically damage the tumor or tissue alteration.

In recent years, daylight PDT in particular has become established. The clear advantage of this special variant of photodynamic therapy is the relative absence of pain for the patient. The disadvantage is the dependence on suitable weather conditions.

Hair Removal

For decades, laser hair removal has been an established method for helping patients achieve smooth, soft skin in the long term. All wavelengths that can be absorbed by the hair pigment melanin are suitable for hair removal.

LinScan

Diode lasers are currently becoming increasingly popular for hair removal, as they require little maintenance and can be used reliably on all skin types. With the linear scanning concept, our hair removal lasers TwinScan and LinScan rely on a highly innovative technical approach that ensures comfortable and effective hair removal.

ONYCHOMYCOSIS

Onychomycosis (nail fungus) is a persistent disease of the toenails. Standard treatment for nail fungus is topical medication (e.g. creams or coatings) and systemic therapy. As a supplement to therapy or when systemic therapy is not medically indicated, onycholytic nails can also be treated with certain lasers.

LinScan

Unlike the conventional use of medical lasers, heating of the affected nails is essential to permanently damage to the fungal structures. Our laser systems TwinScan and LinScan are ideally suited for this therapeutic approach.
